Nelson Mandela passed away peacefully on the evening of December 5th 2013 at the age of 95. This profoundly good human being inspired us all to reach for what seemed impossible and break through all barriers. He taught us that violence was not the way to achieve freedom. Violence could not unite us. Following the end of the apartheid era in South Africa, Mandela helped join our hearts and minds, as we created one unified nation which did not discriminate against color, race, gender or religion. He showed us how to forgive one another and to join together as one rainbow nation.
With the passing of this most beautiful soul, I am sure his light and love will be felt all over the world forever. The world needs more people like Mandela – people who act with love instead of from fear and aggression.
As Madiba said” There is no passion to be found playing small – in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.”
Let us all continue to pay his legacy forward and love with all our hearts.
